Also, x86_64 drivers and DRM will not load, which keeps some games from working, some VPN software from working, etc. Which means Windows on Mac won't do WSL2 or Android (WSL1 and anything else that doesn't require nested virtualization works fine). The only issue I have ran into is that the M1 lacks nested virtualization. I would think that it is more compatible than Windows 10. Windows 11 seems to run fine and offers the best emulation compatibility. Windows 11 boots quickly, runs without issue, and supports most of the x86_64 apps and games I've loaded. I prefer getting the ISO from official sources, so this is basically where I stop looking.Īlso, from what I've heard, all the best emulation stuff is on Windows 11, not 10.ĭoes Windows 10 ARM support x86_ 64 emulation? I believe I read that was something that got cut from Windows 10 and moved 11 (along with the new icons and Start Menu). When trying to look up Windows ARM ISO downloads, Microsoft presents me a Windows 11 page. Paypal refused my claim, I wasn't refundedįrom this day, I've never paid any other parallels product.I created a claim on paypal, because the whole thing was unfair: I literally wasn't capable of knowing that this limitation existed when I bought the newest major version BECAUSE THE LIMITATION DIDN'T WORK.The "bug fixing" update, released a few months later, reinstated the 8GB version "as it should".BUT!! A "glitch" in this version still allowed for VMs with more than 8GB to work. The latest major version was limited to 8GB.All previous major versions allowed for 16GB VMs.and it doesn't start, saying my license only allows VMs with a maximum of 8GB of RAM. Then, the next year, they released yet another major upgrade, I bought it and everything worked greatĪ few months later, they released a minor bug fix upgrade The next year they release a major upgrade, I bought it and everything worked great This subreddit is not endorsed or sponsored by Apple Inc.Ī few years back, I bought a parallel license, and it worked great If you'd like to view their content together, click here.
